85% of global companies were exposed to cyberattacks in 2017
In 2017, for the first time in history, companies have incurred more losses as a result of cyberattacks than of thefts of hard assets.
The most common methods of cyberattacks were installing viruses and sending out phishing emails. Meanwhile in most cases (44%), the intruders were associated with the company – including former employees (20%), freelancers and temporary workers (14%), or even active employees (10%).
There are several simple rules that will help to reduce the risks of cyberattacks for your business:
• Improve computer literacy among company employees;
• Make sure to block access to corporate resources for former employees;
• Make sure that all the latest updates are installed on the system;
• Carefully choose the operating system;
• Use advanced antivirus software;
• Ensure regular back up of all important data.
