FTS prepares to operate central civil registry

In Russia, it is planned to create a federal register containing information on the country's population.

The Unified State Registry of Civil Status Records, which was launched in October of this year, is considered the basis. The Federal Tax Service has been appointed as the new electronic registry operator.

Previously, the registry offices worked in various information systems, which were difficult to bring together. The Unified State Register removes the need to:

• Forward documents between registry offices;

• Send reports to the federal executive authorities associated with the registry offices.

The “Unified State Register of Civil Registry” represents a cloud system with a centralized data storage system. Through the system, civilian registry offices will register acts of civil status (birth, marriage and divorce certificates, issuing repeat certificates, etc.). People will be able to remotely use the services of the registry offices.
