New edition of Incoterms 2020 has been adopted

On January 1, 2020, a new edition of Incoterms 2020 came into force, which includes several innovations compared to the previous edition of Incoterms 2010, for example:

· CIF (cost, insurance and freight) and CIP (transportation and insurance paid before) - the conditions of the levels of insurance cover have been changed;

· FCA (free carrier) - added signs of the type of delivery: by water or land;

· DAT (delivery to the customs terminal) - renamed to DPU (delivery to the place of unloading);

· FCA (free carrier) - added the rules of transportation by your own vehicle: delivery to the destination (DAP), delivery to the place of unloading (DPU) and delivery with payment of the duty (DDP).

Participants of the deal can continue to use the old editions of Incoterms 2000 or Incoterms 2010 – to do this they should be indicated in the contract.
