New Law on Minimum Wage per Hour

The Russian Parliament is considering a new law on the minimum hourly wage for employees with part-time or fixed-term working contracts. If accepted, starting from January 1st 2021, the minimum hourly wage will be RUB 150 (approx. EUR 1.67).

As stated in the explanatory note, this should help to increase incomes during the pandemic and elevate wages in Russia to a corresponding level of wages in industrialized countries.

Currently, the minimum monthly salary in Moscow is set at RUB 20 195 (approx. EUR 223). In the majority of Russian regions, it is set at RUB 12 130 (approx. EUR 135). The minimum hourly wage is determined by the minimum monthly salary in the regions and amounts to RUB 60-70 (approx. EUR 0.65-0.77).
