Practical experiences how banks work at the moment
Some peculiarities:
- Some banks (for example, Raiffeisenbank, Rosbank) repay loans from residents to non-residents only in rubles (even up to 10 million rubles).
- UniCredit Bank refuses to return ruble loans to the accounts of foreign organizations (amount below 10 million rubles). The bank explained that the return can only be made to an account opened on the territory of the Russian Federation.
- In most cases, it is not possible to transfer currency between sanctioned (S) and non-sanctioned (non-S) banks. At the same time, currency transfer between banks included in the sanctions list is possible.
For example*:
Otkritie Bank (S) - Raiffeisenbank (not-S) currency transfer is NOT possible,
Otkritie (S) - VTB (S) currency transfer is possible,
UniCredit Bank (non-S) - Raiffeisenbank (non-S) - currency transfer is possible.
- In UniCredit Bank, it is possible to purchase foreign currency for payment under commercial agreements at a more favorable rate (compared to the purchase of foreign currency for savings)
