The register of SME will be updated monthly

Starting from November 7, 2020, the Register of Small and Medium Enterprises will be updated monthly. Previously, companies could enter the Register only once a year – in August.

Registered SMEs are entitled to receive a number of benefits, including reduced social contributions (the total rate will be 15%) for the part of salary exceeding the minimum monthly wage.

To be included in the Register, a Russian company must meet the following criteria:

·         Revenue does not exceed 2 billion rubles per year;

·         Average annual number of employees – no more than 250.

At the same time, if a foreign company owns more than 49% of the Russian legal entity, this shareholder must also meet the described criteria and should not be registered in an offshore zone.
Russian auditors are entitled to confirm that a foreign shareholder meets all the criteria and to submit the required documents to the tax authorities.
