Diplomats from a number of countries are now required to undergo a medical examination and fingerprinting

Previously, members of diplomatic, trade missions and consulates were exempted from taking medical tests and fingerprinting, which other foreigners entering Russia for labour purposes are required to undergo.

However, since January 24, 2022, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia extended the requirements to representatives of a number of countries, including Austria, Denmark, Lithuania, as well as a number of countries from the Middle East and African regions. The change is due to the principle of reciprocity: similar requirements are imposed on Russian diplomats in these countries.
