Russia's Tax Service started issuing new digital signatures for free
Since July 1, the Federal Tax Service (FNS) issues digital signatures of a new format for free. The new certificate is available for legal entities (usually for the general director), individual entrepreneurs and notaries.
To obtain the new digital signature, applications can be submitted to the local tax office where the company is registered, in person or through the personal digital account of the tax payer. A copy of the passport, the SNILS (pension) number and a USB drive in the approved format need to be provided along.
FNS says that the new digital signature issued by its Verification Center is valid for all government and commercial services, incl. B2B electronic document exchange, for 15 months. The new format digital signature can also be obtained at commercial verified certification centers listed on the official FNS site
nalog.ru.
Existing digital signatures need to be replaced by a new format one before January 1, 2022. All previously issued certificates will not be valid.
